Upside down Tequila

Dear PetRescue, I immediately fell in love with Tequila as soon as I saw her photo, and I adopted her in October 2008. She is now a one very happy furkid. Her favourite activities include: - Long runs along the beach on weekends - Going to the park every day with Mum - Sneaking next door to play with her boyfriend - Cuddles with Mum - Sleeping with her teddy bear I’ve included a few photos of Tequila in her new home so you can see how happy she is. Cheers, Sadie

Shel & Vix on the road in Victoria

Vix and I had a day in Victoria last week to visit a couple of our rescue friends who have been so busy since the fires and who are doing such amazing things for animals. Car trip YAY!

Jetlag = giggly
(Disappointingly, we didn't take any photos of us in our matching lime green PetRescue t-shirts which is a damn shame as they were *hot*. You'll just have to trust me). Animal Aid kindly showed us around and let us take some photos of their shelter:

Thanks to Nell and Jo-Anne for taking the time to show us around. And also to Trish and Tam for waiting so patiently for us when we ran so, so, so late for lunch :)

What a lucky Cherub!

Dear PetRescue, My boyfriend and I had been wanting a dog for a long time and he suggested we go see a few shelters that he found online. Of all the animal shelter websites, we found that PetRescue was not only professional, but was also up-to-date and really informative. We visited the Shenton Park Animal Shelter and were spoiled for choice. With the advice of the excellent trainers and staff at Shenton Park, we took home Cherub, a two year old bull terrier cross. She was really quiet and shy at first, but we just can't imagine life without her now. She keeps our feet warm at night, keeps us company while we work at our computers and gives me a reason to get out of the house and get some fresh air every day.

I'd like to thank the staff at Shenton Park for their help and hard work. They obviously care for their animals and do their best to ensure the best home for them. Cherub was already desexed, trained and socialized and even though money was no issue for us, she cost us only a fraction of the price compared to a dog at a shop. It's quite upsetting that people are still buying from pet stores or irresponsible breeders who only care about money. I hope that many more animals will be adopted out with the help of organizations like Shenton Park and PetRescue. We all know there are plenty in need of our help. All the best for the staff at PetRescue and thanks for your hardwork. Sarah and Rajiv

Elvis has left the shelter

[gallery] Just want to say what a great group of people you are and how fantastic your foster carer's are. My son purchased a bull terrier pup through pet rescue in Wagga Wagga. He was one of 9 pup abandoned and one of the three smallest. He is now about 5months old and the most gorgeous dog. Maybe not cute and fluffy but just as cuddly even though a little big, and most beautifully natured dog. Thank you pet rescue for the wonderful job you do in rehoming these beautiful animals, I encourage my friends who are looking for pets to check your websites before they buy a pet.\\ Therese

PANDA - the manx girl

Media_httppetrescuecomaublogwpcontentuploads200901panda1jpg_uaamofbgpaikdce
When my Father in Adelaide discovered PetRescue as the result of arranging to adopt Cabot (see below) he found out that another kind PetRescue Lady had rescued a girl Manx kitten from Death Row and had listed her for adoption. After prompt phone discussions between the Lady, my Father and Myself, we were able to offer a safe, loving home for this little black & white Manx girl with our adult Male DSH cat and cat friendly lady Australian Terrier. Accordingly, Panda, named for her markings (formerly Louise) flew from Sydney to Melbourne to join us. Panda not only charmed the airline staff, but was just as wonderful in her loving nature as the Rescue lady advised. She is a beautiful natured young lady. Panda has fully settled into our home, has been accepted by Wheat-Bix the Cat and Banshee the Dog. Princess Panda Rules the House, enjoys human company and has my husband, children and myself well trained! We are so happy to have Panda join our family, where she can enjoy life. Well Done PetRescuers – One Adoption resulted in Two Adoptions! Eugenie, Martin, Caitlin, Justin, Wheat-Bix, Banshee and Panda Mooroolbark, Melbourne
